book brightness
don’t equate
life brightness
I might have scaled
through primary school
with plenty excellents
don’t mean I can
face those abuses
and mighty comparisons
I breezed through secondaries
so what?
could I emulate your failures
even as your dad pushed you on
i would’ve died
of going on
mine is book
yours isn’t
doesn’t mean
I see life
better than you
